Scott McCausland

Scott began studying the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (formally) in 2006, in Cleveland, OH. He made the drive from Erie to Cleveland (2 hours each way), 3x per week for the first year and a half, before eventually finding a gym in Erie in 2007. He continued training with Michael Rooney at UndergroundBJJ for the next 16 years until Mata Leao Jiu-Jitsu was formed.

Scott co-owns the gym and is the Head Youth BJJ instructor. With the goal of helping each student develop effective Jiu-Jitsu, each class tries to align trusted Jiu-Jitsu techniques with a little bit of fun.

Scott believes in Jiu-Jitsu and feels that the best way to succeed is to just 'come to class'.

Scott is a certified 2nd degree black belt through the IBJJF. Find him here: Click Here
